Oogvereniging
The Eye association is there for the questions about eyes, sight and not (good) being able to see. They are there for the needs of people with a visual impairment and bring them in contact with each other. On the website you can find things such as the latest news about the topic visual impairment, events of the organization and ways in which we can help people with a visual impairment. The main thing this organization does is give advice. They do this over the ‘Ooglijn’ (eye line), their magazines, newsletters and their website. Their volunteers also organize different information meetings and guest lessons about living with a visual impairment. Also they bring people together so they can get to know people with the same impairments. There are also 75 eye cafes in the Netherlands where people with a visual impairment can meet each other easily. (Home - Oogvereniging, 2024)
Translations of their own introduction:
The Eye Association is the patient and advocacy organization for all people with an eye condition in the Netherlands. We make people with eye conditions visible. We do this to ensure that they receive the best eye care and can fully participate in society.
The Eye Association makes visible!
